Lesson review (idea development) - 28/09/2010
During the lesson today we had to go over our idea for our music video. This process entailed printing off the lyrics and writing down ideas about what will happen at each stage of the song but also the location in which we intend to shoot. This process enables a platform from which we are able to build ; then from here create a shot list or storyboard. In writing out each idea we had a bank from which we were able to discuss and see which would work and which idea maybe wouldn't fit with what we wanted to achieve or just wasn't possible . This process therefore reveals how listing out everything creates more depth in each idea meaning we can then think more about what shots we will use. As well as thinking about location and the general idea we also thought about elements like mise-en-scene (mainly costume) . We did this by getting Georgia to try on the gorilla suit as she is playing the gorilla. We compared the height of her to Megan who plays the love interest and we discovered that Georgia is in fact shorter but we feel this works well with our idea. Normally , the man within the relationship is big imposing character and would be daunintg to anyone else however the fact the gorilla is smaller emphasise the unconventional approach to this subject matter.
